JustWatch, https://www.justwatch.com/us, is a service that helps to locate movies and TV shows across a huge array of streaming and subscription TV services. As an added convenience, JustWatch allows construction of "watch lists." Below are some direct-access options for films and TV.

The Internet Archive

The Internet Archive currently offers a trove of Feature Films for streaming access, especially highlighting vintage films. Content can also be browsed as a list, with filter categories on the left, such as "Classic Movies" and a list of foreign languages.

Classic Cinema Online is a curated collection of public domain films from the Internet Archive, presented in a flashier website. Caution: ignore the ads asking you to download viewers, apps, etc. Instead, simply select the "+View" option.

"Crackle is a free video entertainment network" featuring full-length movies, TV shows, and original programming, available on a wide variety of platforms such as smart TVs, mobile devices, set-top boxes, and video game consoles, as well as direct streaming from Crackle.com. "About Crackle" has information and other options such as a Help page and Crackle's Terms of Service. Note: some content may be pay-per-view.

YouTube free films

Though it primarily promotes its paid streaming, YouTube has a range of "Free to Watch" films. This is in addition to films posted by organizations and individuals on their own channels, findable by the main search box at YouTube.
