A good starting point for economic information is the database CountryWatch
Select your country from the Quick Links dropbox at the top of the page.
Navigate on the left side of the country page (see screenshot of Egypt below).
Here's another option for an economic overview.
Click the Mergent Online database.
Pick your country from the drop box in the lower right (see screenshot).
Be sure to scroll through the entire pdf!
