Mission Statement

AddRan College of Liberal Arts Women and Gender Studies Program puts women, gender, and sexuality at the center of academic investigation. The Program promotes inquiry into the intersections of gender with other identity categories; the workings of power in society; and the means of advancing social justice and equality. Through research, teaching and learning, and collaboration, the Program fosters feminist and interdisciplinary analysis across social, historical, cultural, and global contexts, products, and practices.

Women & Gender Studies offers a BA program and a BS program, as well as a minor and an emphasis on both BA and BS degrees. We also offer internships, campus events, and a variety of other learning opportunities for all TCU students to engage in important conversations about women, gender, and sexuality.

Through research, teaching and learning, and collaboration, the department fosters feminist and interdisciplinary analysis across social, historical, cultural, and global contexts, products, and practices.
