Once you get your results, select "Library Catalog" from the options on the left:

Then narrow by a relevant discipline, for example, "history & archaeology" or "social sciences":

Shows examples of disciplines under the "discipline" filter. Examples include "religion," "history & archaeology," and "languages & literatures."

To find books on your topic at TCU, start at the library homepage, and choose the third tab, "library catalog," type in your topic. For example:

  • Racism and history

Shows "Library Catalog" (the third tab) selected on the TCU Library homepage.

Then add in more specific ideas. For example:

  • "Asian Americans" AND racism AND history

Also try searching for particular people, events, or more specific topics. For example:

  • Voting rights act of 1965

If you want to find books about a certain topic in a particular century, add that century into your search. For example:

  • "Los Angeles" and riots and "20th century" (use the quotes to keep words together as phrases)
