Tips on finding Supreme Court decisions, other case law, law journals, statutes, administrative code and other law related material

Find Case Law

  1. Start in Nexis Uni

  2. Scroll down to find the "Guided Search" and choose, "Cases."

  3. Choose Federal or State, or type in the name of a state.

  4. Type your search term, keyword, or name of the legislation you are looking for. For example: Warrants

  5. After you run the search, use the options on the left to narrow your results further.

Find Statutes

  1. Start in Nexis Uni

  2. Type your search term, keyword, or topic you are looking for. For example: Warrants

  3. Use the options on the left to limit to "Statutes and Legislation."

  4. Scroll down and select "Jurisdiction" to narrow to U.S. Federal Cases, or by a particular state.
