This work is a nineteenth-century photolithographic edition of the eighteenth century work published in Mexico.

Work on Spanish paleography. The author stresses the originality of the Spanish art of writing, with its Visigothic and Moorish influences. The engraved plates show about 80 specimens of writing from different periods, most of them based on material in the libraries of Toledo.

First edition of the Spanish-Otomi dictionary, by Luis de Neve y Molina, official interpreter of the Ecclesiastical Tribunal of the Indies, Mexico.

An engraved copper printing plate depicting the painting "Madre Santísima de la Luz," brought to the city of León in 1732. It depicts the Virgin Mary pulling a soul out of the mouth of Hell. The banner reads "La madre santissima de la Luz," and the caption at bottom reads "Se venera esta Soberana Imag. de Maria Sam. en la Yglesia del Convento de Sras. Religiosas Capuchinas e Pueb." A church dedicated to the image, with its own version of the painting, began construction in Pueba in 1767.

The third and final volume of a weekly magazine. Each issue runs to 36 pages except for the 113-page #8, which is called a supplement. That issue is devoted to the treason trial against Luis Antepara following an attempted coup. Much of #3 is devoted to a botanical study of maguey and pulque (pages 86-108), and Simón Bolívar's difficulties in Gran Colombia are addressed on pages 125-135.
