TCU’s interdisciplinary Department of Women and Gender Studies puts women, gender, and sexuality at the center of academic investigation. Our programs promote inquiry into the intersections of gender with other identity categories; the workings of power in society; and the means of advancing social justice and equality.

Mission Statement

TCU’s interdisciplinary Women and Gender Studies Program puts women, gender, and sexuality at the center of academic investigation. The Program promotes inquiry into the intersections of gender with other identity categories; the workings of power in society; and the means of advancing social justice and equality. Through research, teaching and learning, and collaboration, the Program fosters feminist and interdisciplinary analysis across social, historical, cultural, and global contexts, products, and practices.

Women & Gender Studies offers a BA program and a BS program, as well as a minor and an emphasis on both BA and BS degrees. We also offer internships, campus events, and a variety of other learning opportunities for all TCU students to engage in important conversations about women, gender, and sexuality.

Through research, teaching and learning, and collaboration, the department fosters feminist and interdisciplinary analysis across social, historical, cultural, and global contexts, products, and practices.

Chair's Message

Welcome to the new year and new semester! I hope your work (and play!) are off to a good start. Let me begin by thanking you for your kind invitation to rejoin WGST in an active role this spring. It’s hard to believe how much has changed in the 3 short years I’ve been swanning about in the Elysian fields of retirement. A new department! New staff! A whole new school! As you can imagine, we’re not planning any big changes during this interim period. My job will be to assist Nino and the rest of our very accomplished staff and faculty in keeping on with the fine job they’ve already been doing. Likewise, I’m here to work with you on any needs you might have along the way. Please feel free to get in touch at any time. I’d love to take time for a coffee and chat (c.camp@tcu.edu).
